This recipe adapts Kodak Gold 200 for overcast conditions by counteracting the cool, flat light of cloudy skies. While real Kodak Gold is known for its warm yellow-gold highlights and lively contrast, cloudy light naturally pushes images toward blue and gray tones.
To recreate that classic look, the recipe adds warmth through a high white balance and strong amber shift, effectively “faking” sunlight. Increased saturation and contrast restore color and punch, while reduced clarity and the Toy Picture Control introduce a soft, vintage feel with subtle light bleed.
A slight exposure boost keeps images bright and airy, and optional higher ISO with noise reduction disabled adds grain for a more authentic, expired-film aesthetic.
