Tip: even though this recipe works in any situation, Classic Negative is famous for looking very different under artificial light.

To use this recipe inside use the following settings:

  • White Balance: Change to Incandescent.

  • WB Shift: Move to B: 2.0, G: 1.0.

  • The Result: This will keep the deep contrast but shift the warm indoor light into a cool, cinematic teal-and-orange look that mimics how film reacts to tungsten bulbs.

This recipe emulates Fujifilm Classic Negative, with hard contrast, deep reds, and a signature cyan/green shadow shift for a moody, nostalgic feel. Using the Melancholic base, it delivers slightly desaturated, matte tones with fine texture, making it ideal for street scenes, vintage cars, and cinematic shots.

For daylight, subtle amber and green white-balance shifts enhance the cyan shadows, while indoors, adjusting to tungsten WB with blue/green shifts preserves contrast and introduces a teal-orange cinematic cast. Low noise reduction and controlled clarity maintain a natural, analog-inspired texture.
